Dr. Karen Foster was born and raised locally in Brentwood, Tennessee. Ever since the age of five, she has wanted to become a veterinarian. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2001. Then, she graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Following graduation, she completed a one-year rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Since then she has worked in private and corporate practice and has become proficient in small animal medicine and surgery. Her personal interests include soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, oncology and internal medicine. Her favorite past-time outside of veterinary medicine is jogging, spending time with her dog, Slater and 2 cats, Soot and Stone (a.k.a Cuteness), and attending University of Tennessee football games.
